Eclipse

Eclipse The two types of eclipse: lunar and solar. A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes through the shadow of the Earth. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, blocking out the Sun’s light. During a total solar eclipse when the Moon completely covers the Sun, the Moon’s shadow sweepsacross the Earth’s surface from west to east at a speed of 3200 kph/2000 mph.
